How is AI Changing Us?
AI is reshaping our social lives faster than we can understand.
AI is occupying roles once reserved for people: lovers, therapists, oracles. The attention economy is evolving into an intimacy economy, where AI services offer to fulfill our deepest needs for human connection. What happens when millions of people interact daily with AI in this way?
The core issue: this social change is happening too fast for individual sense-making. Public debates center on economy and geopolitics, overshadowing the everyday questions: What is this? How should I feel about it? Is this changing me for the better? Personalized AI silos us into singular experiences, making collective discussion difficult – we're not all experiencing the same thing.

"There is absolutely no inevitability as long as there is a willingness to contemplate what is happening."
Marshall McLuhan
What We Do
Synthetic Wisdom Studio is an emerging practice asking: how is AI impacting our psychological, social, and spiritual lives?
We host talks, workshops, and experimental gatherings for public sense-making about AI. We believe wisdom emerges not from experts or algorithms, but through embodied experience and collective reflection – when people slow down to notice what's actually happening and make sense of it together.
We're also growing a creative research practice curious about mapping emergent human-AI phenomena. Through participatory research and story-gathering, we've collected 100+ anonymous handwritten confessions – intimate documentation of how people are actually using and feeling about AI.
We're building this practice in public. Our dream is for these field notes to become field guides – hard-earned wisdom for navigating AI in daily life. If you're curious about these questions or are sensing AI's effects in ways you can't quite articulate, we'd love to hear from you.
